Direct Access Mental Health

What is Direct Access Mental Health ?

We expand the understanding that every fact of life touches well-being and mental health.

When we come together, we are strong together

Direct Access was founded on the principle that mental health / mental well-being is a human right and nothing should restrict that right. Currently, the view of what positively and negatively affects mental health / well-being is too narrow. This restricted view contributes to inequity and mental health difficulties because every interaction has a positive, neutral, or negative impact; every facet of life touches well-being and mental health.

We are tackling the problem through a multi-stage approach:

  • Phase One. Our first phase, active now, is a series of products that equip for-profit and non-profit organizations with the tools they need to reduce the increasing mental health issues affecting our society and economy. What our products do, is provide clear and effective research-based tools that slow the flow and reduce the demands for mental health services.

  • Phase Two. Clearly, there is a deep demand for treatment professionals. Phase 2 is designed to correct the issues that insurance has caused with accessing quality mental health care.

History

Direct Access grew out of the pandemic and thinking about the level of national trauma we are experiencing in a time when it appears that everything is unraveling. In times like these, we need each other. In my experience, it is rare for people not to find common ground. So I thought, what could I do about this. I am a psychologist yet I do not want to go back to being a treating professional. Then it came to me; mental health / mental well-being is a human right and nothing should restrict that right. Currently, the view of what positively and negatively affects mental health / well-being is too narrow. This restricted view contributes to inequity and mental health difficulties because every interaction has a positive, neutral, or negative impact; every facet of life touches well-being and mental health.

From there, we designed a series of products and that equip for-profit and non-profit organizations with the tools they need to reduce the increasing mental health issues affecting our society and economy. What our products do, is provide clear and effective research-based tools that slow the flow and reduce the demands for mental health services.
